SHAH ALAM: Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has opened its order books for the new Elantra ahead of the upcoming Hari Raya holidays and its launch in June.

The company is promising new customers who place their orders will receive their new car before Hari Raya for the 'balik kampung' road trip.

At current, the medium-sized Elantra is available in three variants of the 1.6 Turbo Sport (est RM135,000), 2.0 MPI Dynamic (est RM120,000) and 2.0 MPI Executive (est RM125,000).

The 1.6 Turbo Sport uses a Gamma 1.6-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine generating 204PS at 6,000rpm and 265Nm of torque from 1,500 to 4,500rpm.



Powering the 2.0 MPI Executive and 2.0 MPI Dynamic is a Nu 2.0-litre MPI four-cylinder engine delivering 152PS at 6,200rpm and 192Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.

To entice customers, HSDM has revealed that the Elantra has been equipped with features such as emergency fastening device and hands-free smart trunk system among others with more to be announced during its launch this month.

“Customers can look forward to many great features that are segment exclusive with this all-new model. Similar to all Hyundai models, the Elantra is constantly being upgraded according to the latest trends and also to meet customers’ expectations,” said HSDM managing director Lau Yit Mun.
