Hyundai to debut new Kona and Sonata in Malaysia on Oct 30

PETALING JAYA: Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has set a virtual launch on Oct 30 for the latest Kona crossover and Sonata sedan.

The fully-imported Kona will come in three variants: 2.0 Standard, 2.0 Mid and the top-specced 1.6 T-GDI High.

The 2.0 litre Kona variants feature the naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine which produces 149PS and 179Nm of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 1.6 litre turbocharged Kona is fitted with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and outputs 177PS with 265Nm of torque.

The top-of the-range Kona comes equipped with projector LED headlamps, LED taillights and the Hyundai SmartSense active safety suite which consist of AEB, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and high beam assist.

On the other hand, the fully imported Sonata, now in its the eighth generation features a 2.5 litre four-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine with 180PS and 232Nm mated to a six-speed automatic.

Standard equipment includes keyless entry and push start, powered seats with driver’s side memory, dual-zone climate control with rear air vents, a 12.3-inch instrument display, a 360-degree camera system, and the Qi wireless charger.
