Isuzu Malaysia gets new boss

KUALA LUMPUR: Isuzu Malaysia has announced Koji Nakamura (pic) as its new chief executive officer with immediate effect.

Nakamura will oversee all operational aspects, including sales, aftersales and finance.

He has over 25 years' experience in the automotive business, which includes a leading management role in Isuzu Asia Pacific. He has worked in India and Thailand before.

He will be assisted by Isuzu Malaysia commercial vehicle division chief operating officer (COO) Mikio Tsukui, and the company's COO for light commercial vehicle division, Masayuki Suzuki.

Outgoing CEO Kenji Matsuoka made the announcement of the management change.

Matsuoka has been Isuzu Malaysia CEO since 2015. During his term, Isuzu Malaysia was able to maintain its position as the No. 1 truck brand. The Isuzu D-Max’s market share saw a improvement of 3.8%, from 10.9% to 14.7%, in the past year.
