KUALA LUMPUR: Isuzu remains the preferred brand among Malaysian commercial vehicle operators, for the second year running.

Isuzu trucks continued to be top on the sales charts for 2015.

Last year, Isuzu Malaysia delivered 6,387 trucks (compared with 6,321 trucks in 2014).

With sales almost doubling in 2015 for its forward medium-duty, and Giga heavy-duty and prime mover trucks, Isuzu took a commanding 36.2% market share.

Isuzu Malaysia CEO Kenji Matsuoka attributed Isuzu’s success to the weaker economic sentiment and heightened customer-centric efforts by the company.

“Truck operators continue to find ways to control rising costs. They find Isuzu trucks can significantly increase fuel and delivery efficiencies. The rapid rise in demand for our medium and heavy-duty trucks also suggests that long-haul customers realise that by replacing their fleet with technologically-advanced Isuzu trucks, they are seeing a difference in their operational bottom lines,” said Matsuoka.

“In recent years, we embarked on various customer-centric programmes. Whether it is to enhance the dealership network or to improve on our parts availability, every effort has been made to ensure our customers are well looked after,” added Matsuoka.
