Jaguar's limited edition XE SV Project 8 Touring announced

LONDON: Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations division has developed a detuned version of its potent XE SV Project 8 with a more discreet rear spoiler.

With 600PS for its race track-honed performance, the new Touring specification is available alongside existing 324kph Project 8 model variants.

The new fixed Touring Spoiler replaces the Project 8’s adjustable carbon fibre rear aerodynamic wing and is complemented by a fixed front splitter to maintain aerodynamic balance.

Despite this significant aerodynamic revision, the 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 Project 8 with a Touring Spoiler can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 3.7 seconds before reaching a limited top speed of 300kph.

The Touring specification Project 8 - in a four-seat configuration only, will have no more than 15 examples hand-assembled by its Special Vehicle Operations division at its Technical Centre in Warwickshire, England.

Four colour options of Valencia Orange, Velocity Blue, Corris Grey Satin and British Racing Green paint are available and can also be had with or without body decals.

“Project 8 has received outstanding critical acclaim since its launch, demonstrating the Special Vehicle Operations team’s ability to create a compact Jaguar sedan with supercar-rivalling performance," said Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations engineering director Jamal Hameedi.

"Touring specification extends the appeal of Project 8 to performance car enthusiasts and collectors who prefer a more discreet appearance, without compromising its driver-focused on-road dynamics.”

The Project 8 model variants currently hold production sedan lap records at circuits including the Nürburgring Nordschleife, Dubai Autodrome and Laguna Seca.
