JPJ hands woman sarong to 'cover up' legs

PETALING JAYA: A woman motorist had a rude shock at the Road Transport Department (JPJ) office when she was "forced" to wear a sarong.

On Facebook, Suzanna G L Tan said she was at JPJ to do transfers as she had sold her car.

She attached a photograph of her - in a blouse and skirt that is just above the knee - outside the office. Another photograph shows her in a sarong sitting at the JPJ counter.

"I had to go to JPJ personally to sign the transfer form for the car I sold. That in itself is already a pain," Tan wrote.

"I go dressed like this (first picture). Indecent meh?," she said.

Tan said while she was at the counter to get her number, she was handed a sarong to wear "or they will not entertain me."

"So, I looked like this, a bag! Only to sit in front of a counter window where only (the) top part of my body (is) visible to the officer, I do not know if I should laugh or cry," she said.

Tan did not say which JPJ office she was at or the time or date.

The Facebook post has gone viral.
