COLOGNE: To mark the 30the anniversary of the VMax, Yamaha invited German motorcycle builder Jens vom Brauck to produce a new special edition emphasising the machine's power.

The result is an impressive one-off concept.

The Yard Built VMax Infrared by JVB Moto will not be available to the public, at least not in its current form. The model stands out for several features, most of which are a hand-made carbon fibre headlight, an aluminum frame, Motogadget turn signals, and an American dragster rev counter.

The custom wheel covers, tank cover and rear unit are all made entirely of carbon. To top it all off, the builder chose a retro colour scheme inspired by the bikes of the Yamaha 1985 GP team.

The Japanese manufacturer plans to release several more Yard Built editions throughout 2015, each developed by a custom builder.

Recently, the brand unveiled the VMax Carbon special edition, which is due to go on sale before the end of February for €22,999 (around RM94,000), compared to €19,999 (around RM82,000) for the standard VMax in Matte Grey.
