KUALA LUMPUR: The damaged bridge joint on the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) was repaired on March 3, the same day that the video of a car claiming to have its wheels and body damaged by the faulty structure went viral, says Kesas Sdn Bhd.

According to the highway concessionaire, the damaged bridge joint was located at the Sukom intersection, KM50.8, west-bound on the highway, near Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur.

"The damaged structure was repaired immediately after it was brought to our attention," said Kesas chief operating officer Mohamed Shah Samin.

"It was repaired by the contractor for the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE), as that particular stretch was handed over to the SUKE concessionaire in Jan 2017 for the construction of their highway.

Mohamed Shah also advised social media users to not continue making the video viral.

"Kesas will not be responsible for any untoward incident from the sharing of such videos," he said.
