KUALA LUMPUR: For the second year in a row, Kia Motors Corporation with support from Naza Kia Malaysia is hosting the Kia Eco Dynamic Expedition from Jan 6 to 14, 2017.

The Kia Eco Dynamics Expedition is an eco-leadership education programme that gives students who are passionate about the environment and sustainable development the opportunity to take an active role in Ecofriendly Design Development projects to improve developing countries’ quality of life.

These future global leaders are also further nurtured in CSV (Creating Shared Value) areas.

“Now more than ever, it is imperative to cultivate future global leaders who not only recognise the problems faced by developing countries but also conceive innovation solutions for global environment conservation and sustainable growth.

"Through the Kia Eco Dynamic Expedition, Kia is heavily investing in educating the younger generation to become instruments of change who will improve the world,” said Datuk Samson Anand George, Group Chief Operating Officer, Automotive Group, Naza Corporation Holdings.

Sponsored by Kia Motors and organised by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) National Committee for the Republic of Korea, the programme started in 2010 and has since grown into a rich gathering of cultural exchange among students from around the world.

This year, over 90 participating secondary school students from South Korea, China, Germany, Sweden, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia will visit a local village, Kampung Orang Asli, to identify the problems face by the Malaysian Orang Asli and design solutions to their daily and environmental concerns.

“We chose to have the Kia Eco Dynamic Expedition in Malaysia because of its rich culture, unique biodiversity and overall good reputation.

"It is a big city yet has a lot of rural areas that makes for an exciting experience, especially for our participants who have never ventured into Asia before. We were so impressed by our visit here last year that we had to come again,” said Sehee Choi, Associate, Youth Marketing Team, Kia Motors Corporation.
