KLANG: A Proton dealer here has upgraded its 2S outlet into a 4S centre to provide customers better sales and service experience.

The outlet in an industrial area, along the town’s second main road, spans 2,418 sq metres. It consists of 14 service bays, 10 body and paint bays, and can cater to 10 vehicles in the showroom area.

The outlet in Jalan Kebun features a coffee area, kids’ area, free WiFi and a lounge area with seating capacity for 80 customers.

Vantage Speed Sdn Bhd director Tee Boon Kee said the 4S centre has well-trained staff and is sited in a strategic location. "The 4S centre will allow for deeper customer engagement," he said, adding that it is expected to show more than a 50% increase in sales and service throughput.

“Our outlet upgrades are on track," said Dr Li. "Proton is in a very good position to redeem itself in the market. We are confident that we could achieve approval upgrades of 109 outlets by October, or maybe even earlier than expected."

As of July, Proton achieved 31% more sales than the previous month. In July, Proton recorded more than 8,000 cars sold, and secured 11.7% of market share, a record figure for the car maker in more than 30 months.
