KLIMS'18: Wraps off on new Hyundai Santa Fe

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has unveiled the latest generation Santa Fe sports utility vehicle that offers much improvement in styling and features.

Expected to go on sales in Malaysian showrooms in the first quarter of 2019, the Santa Fe will be offered in Executive and Premium variants.

The Santa Fe is equipped with a Theta II 2.4 MPI petrol with a six-speed automatic transmission or a R22 VGT turbodiesel with an eight-speed automatic. Price is estimated at RM188,000 onwards and is open for booking.

The seven-seater comes with the new Hyundai signature cascading grille design with slim LED headlights.

Aside from creating a spacious interior, the new Santa Fe's longer wheelbase together with shorter overhangs create an elegant profile.

Inside, the Santa Fe feels upmàrket with high quality materials and improved ergonomic.

The second row seats come with one-touch folding to allow easy entty to third row.

The new Santa Fe also has Rear Occupant Alert that prevents instances of children or pets being forgotten and left behind in the car.



Features include six airbags, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, downhill brake control, electric parking brake with automatic hold, smart power tailgate, 7-inch LCD virtual cluster, wireless phone charger, and floating type 7-inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Free service is 50,000km with three years' validity and warranty is 300,000km or five years.

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors managing director Low Yuan Lung said the new Santa Fe came with many new additions and upgrades that substantially raise the bar.

"The new Santa Fe is an outstanding testament to Hyundai's constant improvement on design, safety, performance, spaciousness, user experience and technology," he sajd.

Other Hyundai models at the auto show are the new Tucson, Kona, Kona Electric, NEXO, Accent, Grand Starex Executive, Ioniq Hybrid and i30N.
