KTM 1290 Super Duke GT launched

KUALA LUMPUR: KTM looks set to rewrite the expectations of the Sports Touring motorcycle class with the launch of the new 1290 Super Duke GT priced at RM125,080 (basic price with GST).

The GT is based on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R supernaked and KTM claims it is one of the fastest V-twin-powered sport touring machines in the market.

At the heart of it lies the LC8 1,301cc DOHC 75-degree V-twin engine which is managed by a six-speed transmission with a quickshifter and chain final drive setup. The GT outputs 173hp @ 9,500rpm and peak torque of 144Nm @ 6,750rpm.

The KTM 1290 Super Duke GT is also sport a pair of Brembo 320mm floating disc brakes in the front with quad-piston calipers. The rear gets a 240mm single disc paired with dual-piston calipers.

The new touring bike features LED Cornering Lights and self-cancelling turn signals, a multi-mode traction control along with Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC), multi-mode combined anti-lock braking system (ABS) and three riding modes: Sport, Street and Rain.

You also have the choice of adding options such as hill hold control (HHC) and engine drag torque control systems (MSR).
