KOTA TINGGI: Malaysia’s land border with Singapore will reopen Nov 29 to coincide with the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Changi Airport.

Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad said the decision was the result of discussions, which also decided the land crossing only covered long term pass holders.

"I have good news to share, we have had communication with the respective authorities between the Federal and state governments who have confirmed the land VTL will open on Nov 29.

"Land travel between Singapore and Johor Baru will only cover long-term pass borders, such as for those working in Singapore or those working in Johor Baru," he said in his speech during the opening of Four Points By Sheraton Desaru here today.

Recently, Malaysia and Singapore announced that they would reopen their mutual border with the VTL between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Changi Airport.

Under the VTL, fully-vaccinated travellers would be able to travel between both countries, subject to a Covid-19 test, in lieu of serving a quarantine or Stay-Home Notice
