KUALA LUMPUR: The new Volvo S60, featuring a more purposeful and dynamic facade, has been launched in Malaysia.
The range-topping 2.0-litre S60 T5 is powered by a 240hp turbo petrol engine, and the entry-level 1.6-litre S60 T4 has a 180hp turbo petrol engine.
Both powertrains are paired with a 6-speed Powershift transmission complete with Geartronic.
The S60 T4, is priced at RM221,888 while the S60 T5, is priced at RM268,888.
Prices are on-the-road without insurance.
Both variants will come with Volvo’s extended coverage plan which includes a 5-year warranty, 5 years of free service including parts per scheduled maintenance, and 5 years of free roadside assist (Volvo-on-Call).
Buyers can choose from five exterior colours – Flamenco Red, Ice White, Ember Black, Electric Silver, and Seashell.
An optional exterior styling kit, including the R-Design Styling Package allows customers the opportunity to further enhance the S60’s already nuanced appearance.
The New S60 has a new Digital Instrument Cluster with an 8-inch Adaptive Digital Display.
It also features Volvo Sensus, where all information is presented on a seven-inch colour screen in the upper part of the centre stack.
All the functions can be controlled via buttons built into the steering wheel or via touch buttons located just below the colour screen.
The Bluetooth connection has been upgraded to allow not only hands-free phone conversations but also music streaming from a preferred Bluetooth enabled portable music player.
Volvo is actually the only brand to offer Bluetooth music streaming throughout the entire vehicle range.
Safety features for the new S60 include Cornering Light for better visibility, Enhanced Blind Spot Information System, Cross Traffic Alert, City Safety - active up to 50km/h.
Features that are exclusive for the S60 T5 include Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection technology, new Active High Beam Control, Collision Warning with Full Auto Brake, Adaptive Cruise Control also in slow queues, Driver Alert Control, and Road Sign Information that supports the driver by displaying road signs in the instrument display.
