It generates an astounding output of 306hp and 400Nm of peak torque, and is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in an impressive 6.4 seconds with a top speed of 240 kph. “Malaysia continues to be a strategic hub for the BMW Group in South East Asia. Beyond the move to assemble the new BMW X6 in the country, we also recently celebrated the ground-breaking ceremony of our new Parts Distribution Centre which supports 22 countries in South East Asia at the Free Trade Zone of the Senai International Airport as well as the further expansion to our headquarters here in Cyberjaya which also coincides with the celebration of our 11 years of operation here,” said Harris.

The new locally-assembled BMW X6 xDrive35i M Sport is available in Alpine White, Flamenco Red, Carbon Black and Space Grey, with a range of Leather Dakota upholstery colour choices including Black,Coral Red and Cognac.

The price (on the road without insurance) with BMW Malaysia’s latest 5 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty and Free Scheduled Service Program is RM666,888.

Harris told Bernama that BMW car prices might increase next year if the ringgit continues to weaken against the euro.

"If the situation continues (weakening of the ringgit) I do not rule out the possibility of price increases by early next year," he said on the sidelines of the X6 CKD launch.

He said in the last few weeks when the ringgit approached RM4.90 per euro it put alot of pressure on the company.

"Last year, when ringgit was at RM3.80-RM3.90 to the euro, we did not discuss about currency, but now we talk about RM4.90 per euro and this is a significant devaluation and creates pressure," he said.
