What's more, at a starting price of just US$60,000 (RM267,000) before any government incentives or tax credits, the luxury sports car is very competitively priced.

However, at that price, those that pay a US$2,000 (RM8,900) deposit will be securing a sedan with 400hp, two-wheel drive and a battery range of around 386km, plus all of the sensors and other hardware needed to one day turn it into an autonomous vehicle via over-the-air updates.
The prototype model offered over twice as much horsepower (1,000hp to be precise), four-wheel drive and a range of over 643km, plus some blistering performance statistics.

These claims weren't snake oil; Lucid has decided to break down this performance into a list of cost options that perspective owners can pick and choose from to build the electric car they want.
Still, check every box and the car could come in at well over US$100,000 (RM444,000).
And while the order book is now officially open, Lucid Motors says that it is aiming to fulfil the first deliveries by the start of 2018.
