Mansory decks out 700hp Bentley Bentayga

LONDON: Even at an event where automotive customization is taken to extremes, Mansory's latest carbon fibre refinement package for the Bentley Bentayga is bound to turn heads at this year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, which opens on Nov 1, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Bentayga is currently the most powerful and exclusive production SUV money can buy, measuring five meters long, nearly two meters wide and 1.7 meters tall.

And thanks to a 6.0-litre W12 600hp engine, it gets from 0-100kph in 4.0 seconds before reaching a top speed of 301kph.

However, Mansory sees these figures as nothing more than a starting point and thus, it has tweaked the engine so that it now plays to the tune of 700hp / 1,050Nm of torque and added another 5kph to the top speed.

But, the most remarkable thing about the Bentayga is its new carbon fibre parts. Mansory has re-imagined the entire front end, which includes the grille, front apron and bumper, chin spoiler as well as the hood - all custom-made bare carbon fibre and then garnished with some LED lights.

The Betayga now looks wider too with its new side skirts and rear wheel arch extensions. Around the back, there are now two spoilers - one on the tailgate and another mounted to the roof to prevent rear axle when at high speeds or during hard cornering.

Also helping in this regard is a new carbon fiber diffuser and rear bumper package that cover the custom exhaust system.

The SUV rolls on newly created lightweight 22-inch wheels that have been diamond cut and designed to optimize brake cooling.

Inside, Mansory has added a new wood and leather steering wheel, along with re-upholstered and embroidered seats.

If client chooses, the company will also create individually designed and hand stitched floor mats and trim interior surfaces with a host of precious materials.

Many purists may glance at the Mansory Bentayga and ask "why?" To which Mansory's response will be "Why not?"

Even at the very highest end of the market, the SUV is becoming more and more popular and therefore the need to stand out and express one's individuality has never been greater.
