SHAH ALAM: Bermaz Motor today held its sixth Mazda Charity Golf Tournament and raised RM303,000 for the Mazda Medicare Fund with the support of generous golfers and donors.

The tournament was held at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf & Country Club here. The fund was set up to provide life-saving haemodialysis treatment for end-stage renal disease patients with financial constraints.

Eligible patients would receive subsidised haemodialysis treatments at any one of B. Braun’s dialysis centres in Malaysia. While the fund’s main aim is to offer medical aid to those in need, it also provides financial support to charitable homes. Earlier this year, the Mazda Privilege Card was launched with the fund where all sign-up fees by Mazda owners are donated to it.

Bermaz Motor said homes that qualify for aid have been vetted by the fund to ensure they put all donations to good use. The fund is run by Bermaz volunteer employees.
