LONDON: The McLaren 570S Sprint has been earmarked to run up the Hill of year's Goodwood Festival of Speed while sitting pretty alongside its other stablemates, namely the McLaren P1 GTR, 650S Can-Am, 570S Coupé and the 675LT Coupé.

Finished in McLaren Orange as standard, delivery of the £148,000 (RM900,000) car will commence in 2017 and can be optioned with any of the colour palettes available on the Sports Series, along with a range of liveries available by McLaren Special Operations - Defined.

According to the supercar-maker, the 570S Sprint is a track-focused model that's had its noise, power and torque levels from its 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine - managed by a seven-speed SSG transmission, optimised for driver engagement, while being filled with New Life 0W-40 engine oil developed by Mobil 1.

The car is built around a carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis and it's cooling has been enhanced via a front centre GT3-inspired high-temperature radiator and a more aggressive front splitter as well as the floor assembly from the 570S GT4.

Based on the aerodynamic ‘shrink-wrapped’ design of the 570S Coupé, the 570S Sprint features an air piercing front bumper that separates the airflow above, below and through the bodywork, while the ‘floating’ door tendons channel air into the side-mounted radiators.

The flying buttresses are also retained and an optional aerodynamic upgrade includes a large carbon fibre fixed rear wing and front dive planes to help generate maximum downforce.

The wheels are centre-locking lightweight cast magnesium fitted with Pirelli racing slicks as standard, while the front and rear double wishbone and anti-roll bars have been taken from the 570S Coupé. An optional motorsport air jacking system for wheel changes is also available.

Inside, the cabin's been stripped and made driver-centric, while adding an FIA-approved roll-cage, flat-back driver seat, six-point racing harness and fire extinguisher system as standard. A passenger seat is also available as an option.

The 570S Sprint has not been homologated for any race series (yet), but a GT4-compliance pack is available as a further upgrade.

The car has been developed parallel to the 570S GT4 that's currently completing its final testing phase in the live race environment of the British GT championship and the package includes all items required to meet the FIA standards for GT4 competition.
