LONDON: British sportscar and supercar maker McLaren Automotive’s latest Ultimate Series supercar – the stunning 800PS McLaren Senna – will soon be accessible to a new audience, one that will be able to experience the thrill of getting behind the wheel as part of McLaren’s latest collaboration with Microsoft’s Forza racing franchise in the highly anticipated “Forza Horizon 4.”

Following its North American debut in June this year, the cover star of the latest entry in the award-winning Forza Horizon series, the McLaren Senna will make its German debut at gamescom in Cologne, Germany – starring as the centrepiece of Microsoft’s Xbox booth where fans will get their first chance to try the McLaren Senna in “Forza Horizon 4” before its official launch on October 2.

This latest partnership between the British luxury carmaker and Microsoft follows a rich history of collaboration where McLaren cars have been featured extensively throughout the Forza catalogue, including the McLaren P1 which debuted on stage at E3 2013 and was the cover star of “Forza Motorsport 5.”

The McLaren Senna – named after legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna who won all three of his World Championships at the wheel of a McLaren – is the most extreme road car the company has ever built. Designed to be the most responsive and engaging car in the portfolio, it delivers the purest connection between driver and car and is limited to just 500 examples worldwide, all of which have already been sold.

Delivering a massive 800PS from its mid-mounted 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, the McLaren Senna is also the lightest McLaren since the legendary F1 and can reach 200 kph in just 6.8 seconds and 300 kph in 17.5 seconds, whilst delivering massive downforce totaling some 800kg by employing its active front and rear aerodynamic devices.

In “Forza Horizon 4” – the highly anticipated follow-up to 2016’s breakout hit “Forza Horizon 3” – players can get behind the wheel of the McLaren Senna in a shared open-world experience that features dynamic seasons in stunning native 4K and HDR.

The game will launch worldwide on Oct 2, 2018 on the Xbox One family of devices, Windows 10 PCs and Xbox Game Pass. “Forza Horizon 4” features open-world driving among historic British locations in McLaren Automotive’s home market, together with more choice and customisation than ever before.

The collaboration between McLaren Automotive and Microsoft will continue throughout the year as the highly anticipated title release date fast approaches.
