Dr Weidner will officially assume the role in October.

He brings to Mercedes-Benz Malaysia over 20 years’ experience. He has held different positions in sales and marketing and corporate strategy in Stuttgart. Dr Weidner has also been the head of sales/marketing passenger cars in China and leading the Mercedes-Benz business in Hong Kong and Macau, and most recently, Indonesia.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s outgoing president and CEO, Folger said, "My five-year tenure in Malaysia has been a fulfilling experience, and the successes we achieved are a testament to the strength of our team. I extend my best wishes to Dr Weidner and welcome him to Malaysia. I have no doubt that under his leadership Mercedes-Benz Malaysia will not only continue to deliver quality premium vehicles and customer service that exceeds expectations, but will also stay on course to dominate the luxury segment.”
Folger will be heading Mercedes-Benz India later this year.
