Mercedes-Benz Malaysia wants safer roads for children

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is offering 110 units of child car seats to members of the public during this festive season – rent free.

Available on a first-come-first-served basis from now till the end of the year, the company is intent on making road travel safer for children with its free child car seat rental programme.

While we encourage motorists to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before a long drive, we also urge those travelling with young children to take advantage of this added safety feature to safeguard the occupants in the vehicle, especially children,” said Mercedes-Benz Malaysia vice president (Passenger Cars) Mark Raine.

The ECE R44-compliant child seats will require a deposit of RM150 for one without Isofix points for children up to 18kg and RM300 for one with Isofix for children up to 25kg.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s free child car seat rental campaign is an extension of ‘MobileKids’, a long-term and sustainable corporate social responsibility programme initiated by its parent company, Daimler AG, in 2001.

Aimed at keeping drivers and road users, particularly children, safe, ‘MobileKids’ engages both children and youth using age-appropriate and fun methods incorporating real-life road situations.

This year, also in conjunction with the Hari Raya season, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia will start its MobileKids 2015 showcase from now till the end of the year at The School Jaya One (Petaling Jaya) from 11.00am till 7.00pm on Level 1.

“We hope that together with the free child car seat rental campaign and
MobileKids 2015, families will recognise the importance of child safety in vehicles,” added Raine.
