Mercedes to roll out GLA in the form of three AMG models soon
By DPA | 25 July 2020
STUTTGART: Mercedes is further flexing its muscles with its small SUVs, bringing the GLA back as an AMG model in three different varieties: the GLA 34, 45 and 45 S, all of which cost at least US$60,000.
A 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine that delivers its power to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission can be found in all three of the versions, according to the manufacturer.
The most powerful of the three, the GLA 45 S generates 421 hp and can reach a maximum speed of 270kph, according to the data sheet, while the other versions stop short at 250kph.
As always with AMG, the powerful engine is accompanied by a correspondingly sporty modified chassis and more direct steering.
The interior has also been expanded, while the design on the outside has sharpened, with its own grilles and contoured metal sheets.
