KUALA LUMPUR: Michelin today announced the appointment of Tushar Gupta as the new managing director for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.

He has been working in this role since Sept 1.

Tushar replaces Pascal Nouvellon, who has been promoted to a new global role at Michelin headquarters in France.

Tushar brings with him more than 15 years of experience in various industries including chemical, automotive and aviation. He joined Michelin in 2010 as a corporate development manager for South-East Asia, Australia and India. In 2012, he became the director of global corporate development in Clermont Ferrand, France.

He was then promoted as the Asia-Pacific zone director for Michelin Aviation Tyres in 2016 until July this year.

Tushar has a chartered accountant degree and is also an MBA graduate from Fuqua School of Business, Duke University in the United States.

“Having been with the Michelin family for almost a decade, I am excited to take us further in the automotive and tyre industry – especially in Malaysia where the market is strong and our presence is well-established through the Michelin, BFGoodrich and TYREPLUS brands," said Tushar.
