As an option, the Balloon Financing from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia is available and allows for ownership of the Convertible Sidewalk Edition to begin from RM 3,266 per month (based on estimates of 80% loan on a five-year tenure).
Like all MINIs, this limited edition is covered by a five-year Roadside Assistance programme (1800-88-8808) that includes a 24-Hour, 365-days-a-year Accident and Help on the Phone as well as On the Spot Hotline.
This also includes Free Towing Services (over 200km from residential home) and a Replacement Vehicle can be provided when needed as well as Seamless Mobility, Accommodation, Mobility Services Solutions and Repatriation services.
The limited-edition soft-top convertible MINI comes in a new Deep Laguna metallic colour.
Power is derived from a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, providing 192hp at 6,000rpm and 280Nm of torque from 1,350 to 4,600rpm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
This allows the Sidewalk Edition to sprint from 0 to 100kph in 7.1 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 230kph.
The black soft-top roof takes 18 seconds to fully open (when moving at up to 30kph) and features an interwoven "Sidewalk" pattern in Titanium Grey.
There's also a geometric pattern on the bonnet's stripes while rolling on 17-inch light-alloy Scissor Spoke two-tone wheels which happens to be a model-specific design feature.
Inside, the cabin has been fitted with an exclusive MINI Yours Leather Lounge Sidewalk seats in anthracite and is combined with contrasting seams in Petrol and Energetic Yellow.
The same yellow colour can also be found on the door cards and floormats as well as Energetic Yellow as standard.
Drivers will be constantly reminded of this MINI's exclusivity thanks to the Sidewalk logo being found on the steering wheel.
Standard inclusions for this variant starts with its LED headlamps, LED front and rear fog lamps, 12-colour ambient interior lighting package, MINI Driving Modes of Green (efficiency), Mid (default) and Sport.
There's also automatic climate controls, height-adjustable front passenger seat and a storage compartment package that has a two-part boot floor, lashing eyelets to help secure down objects and a boot net.
For entertainment, the Sidewalk Edition comes with a wireless charger in the armrest, Apple CarPlay and a range-topping Wired Package that consists of an 8.8-inch MINI Visual Boost infotainment system with Navigation System that can be operated via the touchscreen, the MINI Controller or Voice Control.
For the sake of sound quality, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon Sound system has been installed as well as keyless entry with a flip switch Start system for added convenience.
