MALACCA: MINI Owner Club Malaysia struck a patriotic chord in its latest outing using the latest Huawei P9 smartphone to document all things Malaysian ahead of National Day celebrations.

It recently teamed up with Huawei Malaysia, Leica Malaysia and Auto Bavaria MINI to host the “Mini, Monochrome, Makan, Malacca” Treasure Hunt 2016.

Over 100 club members went on a road trip to Malacca to capture the unique aspects that embodies the story of Malaysia by using the P9 to capture images about art, culture, food, sports and other aspects of life during a walkabout along Jonker Street.

The partnership gave photography enthusiasts an opportunity to use the P9 to capture the success of Malaysia over the past 59 years through the racial unity of our country.

The treasure hunt marks Huawei Malaysia’s first step into partnerships that it hopes to form in the future.

“This event serves as a good platform for our members to explore Malacca by capturing the beauty of Malaysia using the Huawei P9," said club member Roslyn Kong.

The P9 and P9 Plus are dual-lens camera smartphones using Leica lenses. According to Huawei, the phones boast superior smartphone camera technology, with the ability to capture lighter and better photo clarity to produce brilliant colour and striking black and white images that are the hallmark of Leica lenses.

Huawei is also hosting a social media contest "MYFoodStories" for P9 and P9 Plus users in conjunction with Merdeka month.
