PETALING JAYA: Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) together with 3M Malaysia, the global science company with a rich history of road safety innovation launched the 3M Road Safety Award for Southeast Asia.

The award, which is open to individuals, government and non-government organisations intends to encourage and recognise road safety initiatives that are impactful, innovative, sustainable and replicable in Southeast Asia.

“We are pleased to collaborate with 3M Malaysia for a regional award that focuses on improving road safety in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Road safety is an important and serious issue that affects each country within the region, and we believe it is the responsibility of both the government and its citizens to help reduce accidents and fatalities on roads.

"It is our earnest hope that this award empowers a region-wide effort to improve road safety not just for us, but for future generations as well,” said Chairman of MIROS, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye.

“We believe that the award will not only inculcate the importance of reducing road traffic injuries and deaths within and beyond Malaysia’s borders, but also encourage innovative thinking to accelerate the pace of effective road safety measures,” said Managing Director of 3M Malaysia, Parameswaran Nair.

Submission for the 3M Road Safety Award for Southeast Asia commences at Mar 15, 2018 and ends at 11.59pm on July 31, 2018.
