KUALA LUMPUR: Motosikal Dan Enjin Nasional (Modenas) has partnered with India-based Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) for their engines and have launched three new motorcycles for the sub-200cc bike market - namely the V15 cafe racer, naked NS200 and RS200 sportbike.

Priced at RM5,989 (including GST) and available in Black/Red or White/Red, the V15 cafe racer uses an air-cooled 149.5cc twin-spark dual-valve single-cylinder DTS-i motor that's fed by a 13-litre fuel tank and produces 12PS at 7,500rpm and 13Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.

While rolling on 18-inch (front) and 16-inch (rear) wheels that have been fitted with 90/90 (front) and 120/80 (rear) tyres, while stopping power comes from a 240mm disc (front) and 130mm (rear) drum.

The V15's ride and handling is taken care of by the front telescopic and rear mono-shock suspension as the 55W low and 60W high-beam provides forward illumination.

Both NS200 and RS200, costing RM9,222 and RM11,342 respectively (including GST), uses a six-speed manual gearbox to manage the 199.5cc single-overhead cam, four-valve, liquid-cooled, triple-spark, single-cylinder motor producing 24.5PS at 9,750rpm and 18.6Nm of torque at 8,000rpm.

They are also 1,993mm-long, with the naked NS200 having a ground clearance of 167mm and is the only one that uses a 12-litre fuel tank while colour options are Red/Black and Black.

For an additional RM2,120, the more sportier RS200 (available in White/Blue and Black) has a wheelbase of 1,345mm and comes fitted with an automatic (55W low and 65W high-beam) projector headlamp instead, as well as anti-lock braking system (ABS) for the uprated 300mmm (front) and 230mm (rear) discs.
