In a statement, the national automaker said issues had been identified and audit scores across all models had been strengthened by using Geely Auto’s product quality audit scoring system, which is adapted from the system used by Volvo Cars.
Proton also said it is intensifying efforts to have 109 3S (sales, service and spare parts) and 4S (sales, service, spare parts, shop for body and paint) centres as part of a 180-degree approach in fulfilling customer satisfaction and ownership experience.
Proton wants its upcoming SUV (sport utility vehicle), a premium segment offering, to be sold from outlets delivering a premium experience.
The upcoming Proton SUV, to be launched in the fourth quarter, will have premium features like automatic emergency brake assist, besides lane keeping assist, voice command, adaptive cruise control and 360-degree 3D view.
Within three months of Proton announcing a one-of-its-kind scheme for dealers to upgrade or new investors to build 3S or 4S centres, Proton received 170 applications, with 82 of them, potentially approved for the upgrading exercise.
To-date, 66 applications have been duly evaluated and approved, with the rest being reviewed to ensure adherence to set requirements and criteria.
As such, Proton is optimistic of achieving its target for the dealers’ network upgrading exercise for 2018 in time for the launch of the new SUV.
April campaign
For April, Proton is offering 0 per cent financing for the first year to buyers of the Proton Iriz (Executive and Premium variant), Proton Ertiga (all variants) and Proton Exora (all variants) who sign up for 5-year loan tenures with Hong Leong Bank.
As for the Proton Saga and Persona (Premium CVT only) offers for April comprise of a free body kit for bookings made throughout the month.
Additionally, rebates are also available for other models in the Proton range including generous incentives for remaining stocks of 2017 cars.
