The vehicle was launched at the inaugural History Convention 2017 at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS) today.

Present at the launch was Education Deputy Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan, chief executive officer of Isuzu Malaysia, Kenji Matsuoka and executive director of Isuzu Malaysia, Hajime Machimura among others.

The thousands of hours spent by our engineers in refining the MU-X has resulted in this pinnacle engine build, and enable us to provide 5 years unlimited mileage warranty,” said Matsuoka.
The new facelifted MU-X now features:
- a new facade with blue spectrum bi-LED projector headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights and auto levelling
- soft touch interior
- wood pattern panel door trim
- quilt pattern leather seats
- 6 airbags
- Hill Descent Control
- 18in wheels
The powertrain consists of the 2.5 liter VGS Turbo Intercooler diesel engine mated to a 5-speed automatic which delivers 136PS and 320Nm of torque.
Safety-wise the MU-X features:
- anti-lock braking system (ABS)
- Traction Control System
- Electronic Stability Control
- Electronic Brakeforce Distribution
- Brake Assist
- Hill Start Assist (HSA)
Entertainment-wise, all variants now come with 8 speakers.
The 4x4 variant comes with an 8in DVD touchscreen while the 4x2 variant has a 7in DVD touchscreen.
The MU-X comes in four colours:
- Havana Brown Mica
- Silky White Pearl
- Titanium Silver Metallic
- Cosmic Black Mica
