KUALA LUMPUR: Naza KIA Malaysia, the official distributor of KIA vehicles in Malaysia, has a new variant of the petrol-powered Kia Sportage sport utility vehicle (SUV) - meet the Sportage 2.0 EX that's priced at RM129,888 (on-the-road without insurance).

The new variant now goes on sale alongside the Sportage GT Diesel AWD, while the Sportage GT Petrol 2WD and Sportage KX has been discontinued with immediate effect.

Accompanying the new variant is a five-year unlimited mileage warranty as well as five colour choices of Cherry Black, Mercury Blue, Fiery Red, Snow White Pearl and Mineral Silver.

The Kia Sportage 2.0 EX now dons a fresh new design with 18-inch alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, rain sensor and auto folding side mirrors with side repeater, headlamps with LED daytime running lights and Kia’s hallmark Tiger-nose grille by Peter Schreyer.

 

The sporty SUV comes with keyless entry, push start button, fully-automatic climate controls, a new and larger 7.0-inch (+2.0-inches) touchscreen audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as an auto-dimming Electrochromic rear view mirror.

In terms of safety, there's six airbags, anti-lock brake system, electronic stability control, vehicle stability control and hill-start assist control - all within an Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) body structure that helped it achieve a full five-star rating from the Eupoean New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP).
