PETALING JAYA: Lexus will showcase the seventh-generation ES (pic) at the KL International Motor Show ahead of its official launch in Malaysia.

This all-new model uses a new 2.5-litre powerplant and the engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that debuts with this model.

Other top exhibits at the Lexus stand are the LS+ Concept and UX crossover.

The Lexus LS+ Concept has played a key role in the development of autonomous driving systems by Lexus engineers. Tech aficionados will be able to look at the various components used to develop the future of driving technology featured in this car.

Another attraction in the line-up is the UX. This compact Urban Crossover (UX) signals Lexus’ entry into this segment and showcases numerous firsts for Lexus vehicles including its unique styling attributes and interior materials. Lexus is happy to tell that its development was led by Toyota's first female chief engineer.

Lexus would also highlight the achievements of a Malaysian team at the Lexus Design Awards.

The Malaysian pair of Paul Yong Rit Fui and Jaihar Jailani Ismail who co-founded Aesthetid submitted a design that helps identify an egg’s freshness and edibility through a colour pigment on the egg shell. The "Honest Egg" design won the Lexus Design Award people’s choice at this year’s Milan Fashion Week.

Lexus said it is promoting the craftmanship of its cars through the Crafted Car Parts Box that showcases the intricacy of each component when isolated from the completed vehicle.

Other Lexus cars on display will be the RX300 Special Edition and LC500.

The motor show runs from Nov 23-Dec 2.
