KUALA LUMPUR: Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM), the franchise holders of Nissan vehicles in Malaysia, has expanded the pickup truck model lineup with the introduction of the new range-topping Navara VL Plus.

Priced on-the-road without insurance and 0% GST at RM119,869, the VL Plus variant is accompanied by the company’s standard five-year or 150,000km (whichever comes first) warranty.



The new variant arrives with the addition of Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) technology that includes an Around View Monitor (I-AVM) for a 360-degree birds-eye view, seven airbags and a new digital speedometer housed within the Advance Driver-assist Display.

An optional Black Series package is available and will push the price up by RM3,773 to RM123,642.67 and will add on matte black accoutrements including headlamp eyelids, front grille, fog lamp cover, overfender and side mirror caps as well as a blackout front bumper and black sport bar.

In terms of power delivery, the new variant is powered by the same 2.5-litre intercooled turbo-diesel with 190PS and 450Nm of torque that’s mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual mode while maintaining a rear multi-link suspension (up to one-tonne payload) and the Zero Gravity inspired seats to name a few.

The VL Plus variant will make its appearance at the upcoming Nissan Nationwide Test Drive Carnival at selected showrooms over two weekends, from now to Aug 12 (10am to 8pm), and will be available for test drives.

Meanwhile, there will be attractive deals, prizes and activities being offered during the carnival and includes the Nissan Nurtures Nature eco-friendly activities that involves ‘3R’ environmental philosophy of Reduce, Recycle and Reconnect:

• Reduce – Herbs planting activity; grow your own herbs, bring more green into homes
  to reduce Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and produce more Oxygen (O2).


• Recycle – Transform waste into usable items; a showcase of using a used tyre that
  can be creatively made into a rustic furniture.


• Reconnect – Retreat to nature allowing its serenity to refresh, rejuvenate and re-energise the body and mind. A series of Eco Talk will be introduced to educate owners and customers on why and how we could play a role in contributing back to the environment.
