NEW YORK: About time. The sixth generation of the Altima will make its world debut at the 2018 New York International Auto Show on March 28.
This official exterior sketch reveals an expressive, sophisticated all-new Altima and hints at the future of Nissan’s sedan design language. The upcoming Altima takes some sporty styling cues from the larger Maxima sedan and Nissan V-Motion 2.0 Concept.
The redesign of the Altima has been a long time coming as Nissan hasn't overhauled it since the the 2013 model year. You may recall that the North American Altima is rebadged as the Teana and sold in Malaysia, China and other Asian markets.
It's likely that the 2.5-litre-cylinder engine and CVT would be carried over plus the addition of a V6 engine option. An all-wheel drive version could also be in the mix for the upcoming Altima which goes up agaimst the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord.
This year’s auto show is open to the public March 30 – April 8.
