UPDATE: Second official photo from Toyota showing the Tundra dashboard was released on June 22.

DALLAS: Toyota USA rushed out the first official picture of the new-generation Tundra after an online leak marred its power to surprise.

Shortly after the leak happened late last week, it sent out the photo on Friday without any accompanying text.

Various leaked dealer photos have popped up on the Tundras.com forum that claimed to show the next-gen 2022 Tundra in TRD Pro spec.

The photo set showed the front three-quarter view, a close-up of the grille and the rear of the full size pick-up truck.

Meanwhile, the official photo shows of a chunky and very good-looking Tundra, also in TRD Pro spec, with LED headlights and running lights positioned above a vertical air intake. The huge, blacked-out grille has three LED strips in three places arranged in a triangle.

The 2022 Land Cruiser is fitted with a twin-turbo V6 that will also be used in the new Tundra. In keeping with the times, expect the Tundra to have an electrified variant.

The Tundra goes up against the Ford F-150 Raptor and similar brawny offerings from other pickup truck makers.

It is set for a September debut.
