Over 23,000 Mitsubishi cars recalled

The 2013 ASX is subject to recall.


PETALING JAYA: Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia is recalling over 23,000 cars comprising various models.

They cover the Outlander, ASX, Lancer, Lancer Sportback and Lancer Evo.

Problems vary depending on model and include issues involving the rear parking brakes, front wiper link ball joint, engine auto tensioner and the electronic control unit (see table for details)

Mitsubishi said it will inform all affected car owners by letter. The full cost of the replacement and rectification will be borne by the company.

“Safety is our utmost priority thus Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia  is taking this initiative to assure customer’s safety and regrets the inconvenience caused,” said its CEO, Tomoyuki Shinnishi.

Affected customers can make an appointment at any Mitsubishi authorised service centre for repairs and/or replacements. The number of cars to be recalled totalled 23,133 units.
