Performance electric MINI gets the go-ahead

LONDON: MINI is apparently dabbling in a sporty version of its all-electric MINI that will have a GP badge.

With a drivetrain from the BMW i3 powering the front wheels of this two-door hatchback and bits for the chassis, aero and suspension from John Cooper Works (JCW) - along with a healthy dose of power gains, it could be a winning combination for heaps of fun.

Although there isn't any word on specifications regarding range and power, there's "word" that this electrified MINI has been given the go-ahead and is currently under development.

But with added power to help "up" the fun factor, it is unlikely that this MINI's electric range could be anywhere near its more conservative stablemates...unless there's a bigger battery pack to make it more comparable.
