Porsche holds Sportscar Together Day at SIC

SEPANG: Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), the authorised importer of Porsche in Malaysia, recently held its Sportscar Together Day at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC).

The sportscar brand from Stuttgart, Germany continued this tradition which was first held during the brand's 70th anniversary last year.

Porsche owners and enthusiasts converged at SIC on Aug 3 to celebrate the brand and its heritage which showcased Porsche race cars, supercars and sports cars.

It was estimated that over 2,000 patrons visited the family-friendly event that was catered to all ages and interests while enthusiasts were treated to a closer look at Porsche’s iconic models over its 70-year heritage.

Such cars on display included Porsche Carrera Cup Asia's 911 GT3 Cup race cars, eight generations of the 911 as well as the 919 Hybrid and the Mission E 1:3 scale model.

Visitors were able to learn about the historical milestones of the brand in the Fascination Porsche showcase that provided insights into the past and future of of the brand.

In conjunction with the event, it also marked the arrival of the new Macan S 3.0 V6.

Also, the Largest Porsche Gathering was recorded for Malaysia at SIC with 320 Porsches gathered on the track and was subsequently given a victory lap around the circuit.

Additionally, enthusiasts who participated in the Porsche Experience left with a better understanding of the dynamics of driving a Porsche.

Parents who signed their child up for the Porsche Junior Experience programme took place on a customised replica of SIC track.

Also, members of the media were treated to a quick lap around SIC in the 911 Carrera S and 4S (all-wheel drive) model variants, albeit in left-hand drive versions.

During the event, SDAP took the opportunity to introduce its new 360 Leasing programme.

The programme has added the latest Cayenne and Panamera to its list of vehicles with the new Macan S soon to join.

The new 360 Leasing programme is an alternative to conventional ownership models via financing and provides customers and companies with the financial flexibility to drive away a new Porsche every three years with only a 10% or 25% refundable security deposit (for company lease or individual lease respectively) based on the selected vehicle value.

As part of the peace-of-mind ownership, Porsche vehicles under the programme come equipped with warranty and maintenance package including service, parts and labour by an authorised Porsche Service Centre.

The pricing under this programme also includes a 'full comprehensive insurance package' for all drivers, inclusive of coverages for windscreen and natural disasters as well as road tax.

Additionally, customers will enjoy 24-hour roadside assistance offered by Porsche Assist in the event of any emergency.
