With Porsche and the legendary 24-hours of Le Mans endurance racing dating back decades, the German sports car builder has decided to use the wheels of its race car to create “The 24 Minutes of Le Mans” soundtrack.
The discs feature the soundtrack the history of Porsche at the French race track on a 24 symbolic vinyl record set - each containing a 24-minute narration of the biggest victories, the hardest defeats, the most exciting moments and the most personal insights into the inspiration of drivers and teams.
It will tell of Porsche's history at the French race, which will be narrated by racing 'royalties' and Le Mans legends that include Dr Wolfgang Porsche who describes his experiences at the race as a boy.
Also featured are Chad McQueen who tells about sitting on his father's lap in a race car as well as Hans-Joachim Stuck who lives through one of our biggest tragedies together with many more known and unknown stories.
Sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, but always thrilling, accompanied by original recordings of the cars and competitors, by interviews with eyewitnesses and by the pit radio of the crews.
Only 200 vinyl record sets will be made with each record numbered 1 through 24 and will be up for auction with the proceeds going to Loisirs Pluriel in Le Mans, France - an organisation that supports disabled children throughout the country.
To have a taste of Porsche's 24 Minutes of Le Mans soundtrack, it can be heard on Spotify.
