PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), during its annual media appreciation night, the authorised importer of Porsche vehicles in Malaysia, introduced the new limited edition Macan SportDesign.

With only 40 examples available, each priced at RM545,000, the limited edition Macan is accompanied by a four-year warranty and free maintenance package. The stated price includes all applicable duties, except registration fee, road tax and insurance.

“The design and livery of the Macan SportDesign Series is the clear differentiation factor for this new Macan and its unmistakable character. It is a clear nod to the motorsport heritage of every Porsche,” said SDAP chief executive officer Arnt Bayer.

Under the hood lies the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with 252hp from 5,000 to 6,800rpm and 370Nm of torque from 1,600 to 4,500rpm, while mated to a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung dual-clutch transmission before sending it to the all-wheel drive system.  It is able to catapult to 100kph from standstill in 6.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 229kph.

The limited edition Macan comes in two exterior colours of Volcano Grey Metallic and Carrara White Metallic to match the black-red leather interior and features a sporty front and rear apron, painted side-skirts as well as a new specially designed livery with subtle silver and red accents that’s complemented by contrasting black accents.

It also comes fitted with black LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), tinted LED taillights, roof rails, high gloss black sports tail pipes and two 21-inch wheel options - 911 Turbo multi-spoke or high gloss black forged one-piece Sport Classic Wheel.

Other equipment includes air suspension with levelling system and ride-height adjustment as well as the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system and Sport Chrono Package.

Inside, the cabin is equipped with 14-way powered front seats with memory function and 14-speaker 545W Bose surround sound system, while being dominated by Black and Garnet Red colour combination for the leather, contrast stitching, seat belts, instrument cluster and Sport Chrono stopwatch.

“With the many premium features now offered as standard, the Macan SportDesign provides a sportier look and feel, giving our customers a greater experience of the sporting fundamentals of a Porsche,” added Arnt.



SDAP is also organising an Open House at Porsche Centre Glenmarie and Porsche Centre Sungai Besi this weekend. For Porsche owners in the Northern Region, the Macan SportDesign Series will be on preview at the Farquhar Mansion during the same weekend.

Also on display was the highly anticipated Panamera Sport Turismo shooting brake sporting a 4.0 litre V8 engine under the front hood that’s mated to an eight-speed PDK automatic transmission to manage its 550hp and 700Nm of twist. It will be made available under the Porsche 360 Financing programme upon its official arrival,
