KUALA LUMPUR: A promotion campaign for BHPetrol SynGard lubricants that ends on Feb 29 offers premium items such as shopping vouchers and foldable travel bags.
With the SynGard "Kam Siah (thank you in Hokkien)" promotion, a passport wallet will be given away with every purchase of the SynGard 3000, LVis and K premium multi-grade lubricant; an armband phone pouch for the SynGard 6000 semi-synthetic lubricant; RM20 Giant shopping voucher for the SynGard 6000 Eco semi-synthetic lubricant; and a foldable travel bag for the the SynGard 8000 fully synthetic lubricant.
The promotion is at selected BHPetrol stations as well as 1,500 spare part dealers and vehicle workshops in the country.
The SynGard lubricants are priced in Peninsular Malaysia at RM198 for the 8000, RM148 for the 6000 Eco; RM125 for the 6000; RM88.80 for the 3000, RM81.80 for the LVis and RM63.80 for the K.
Retail prices are subject to 6% goods and services tax (GST).
The SynGard lubricants come in four-litre packs except for the K, which is in three-litre packs.
The 3000 is a premium multi-grade mineral-based oil for engines including the turbocharged and multi-valve types.
The LVis and K are premium multi-grade light viscosity mineral-based oils for compact vehicles.
The LVis is aimed at the Perodua Myvi segment, while the K is meant for smaller cars such as the Perodua Kancil and Viva.
BHPetrol deputy general manager of lubricants Soh Lip Peng said the SynGard "Kam Siah" promotion was the first of another aggressive marketing drive.
"Last year, about RM2mil worth of premium items were given out in promotion camapigns for BHPetrol SynGard lubricants. We aim to repeat or better that in 2016," said Soh.
Premium items given out last year ranged from dual-port USB adaptors, windbreakers, waterproof travel organisers to Giant and KFC vouchers.
In the second half of 2016, BHPetrol has plans to launch upgraded SynGard lubricants for passenger cars, with improved formulation based on additives from the United States.
"These will provide more value to our customers as the upgraded SynGard lubricants can result in cleaner engines and better fuel economy," said Soh.
