Proton's October sales surge 13%; Saga leads in popularity

SUBANG JAYA: Proton announced that it recorded a 13% jump in sales in October with 5,083 units sold compared to 4,498 units in September.

Its sales performance saw a rebound for the January – October period after registering 61,380 units sold compared to 57,734 units in the same period last year, marking a 6% increase.

Both the Saga and Persona continue to dominate the trend, both contributing 70% to the company's sales figures, with 26,343 units of the Saga and 16,833 units of the Persona sold.

The Persona received the Best Compact Car at the Carsifu Editor’s Choice Award 2016 after it was launched and subsequently saw a 57.5% increase year-to-date with 16,833 units sold compared to 10,687 units during the same period last year.

According to Proton vice president (Sales & Marketing) Abdul Rashid Musa, car buyers should take advantage of the current RM0 maintenance fees to help them save up to RM8,000 on a Proton car.

RM398 a month (installment), you can bring home a champion,” added Rashid.
