Ahead of the Malaysian Grand Prix from Sept 29 to Oct 1, Petronas will be offering this experience for motorsport fans who would like to pit their skills against each other, with the winners getting grandstand tickets to the race finale.
The game is able to connect up to 24 people online within a 'Raceroom' simultaneously and is being introduced in conjunction with the last Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix to help ensure Malaysian still remain involved in motorsport activities.
“This is timely as the country, despite not continuing to host the competition at Sepang International Circuit, still plays host to world champions, Mercedes AMG PETRONAS Motorsport through virtual racing. said Raceroom Entertainment executive chairman Tan Sri Rainer Althoff.
Racroom's machines consists of racing simulators that are equipped with widescreen monitors, racing seats, steering wheels and pedal units to help provide some realism to the experience.
the simulators could be tailored during the coming PETRONAS competition for up to 5,000 players per week.
R3E is in terms of quality the worldwide leading free-to-play motorsport simulation for PC and can act as a point of access to international race series as well as legendary race cars and world-renowned race tracks.
“Virtual racing has become so important that even professional racers today train and sharpen their skills via these platforms as it can be done anywhere and anytime,” concluded Althoff.
