The versatile Ranger pickup – Ford’s best-selling nameplate in Malaysia – continued to enjoy strong demand in July, with retail sales of 699 units, marking three consecutive months of sales gains. Year-to-date sales of the Ranger have jumped 22 percent to 5,520 units.

“The Ranger combines the safety and security systems of a passenger car with the ruggedness and dependability of a pickup truck, delivering a combination of features and performance that is unmatched in the market,” said Ford managing director for Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets David Westerman.
To meet demand as the year progresses, Ford has increased dealer stock nationwide across the entire Ranger line-up.
Sales of the Fiesta rose 12 percent over the previous month to 119 units. Demand for the Fiesta is being driven by both its 1.5L Ti-VCT and 1.0L EcoBoost variants.
The EcoSport compact urban SUV also delivered sales of 101 units. EcoSport combines the agility of a compact passenger car with the flexibility, water-wading capability, superior fuel economy and an array of smart features including Ford’s in-car connectivity system SYNC.
Ford said it plans to continue strengthening the appeal of its Malaysia showrooms, as the company refreshes its current lineup with the new Ranger and Everest, and adds the iconic Mustang to its growing range of cars, trucks and SUVs.
