Available in Bright Silver, Signal Red, Deep Blue and Clear White, the Rio sedan is priced at RM72,888 and comes with a five years warranty with unlimited mileage.
“The Rio has consistently been the world’s number one bestselling Kia having sold over two million units since its global introduction,” said Naza Corp Holdings group chief operating officer (automotive group) Datuk Samson Anand George.
The Rio sedan is powered by Kia’s Gamma 1.4-litre MPI (multi-point injection) DOHC petrol engine with CVVT (continuous variable valve timing) which produces 109ps and 137Nm of torque, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.
It has a Macpherson strut front, and a torsion beam rear suspension.
The Rio sedan offers sporty European design cues, as well as class-leading safety features.
These include six airbags, four-disc brakes, anti-lock brake system (ABS), tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), hill-start assist control (HAC), ISOFIX points, and keyless entry.
The high-quality interior has a tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio remote control, Bluetooth, an audio system connected to six speakers with tweeters as well as an audio head unit with CD, MP3, and USB capability and 800MB memory storage.
Other features include an immobilizer as well as 15-inch alloy wheels with a full-sized spare tyre.
The Rio Sedan is fitted with a motor-driven power steering (MDPS) that improves fuel economy, a 60:40 back seat recline and a 389-litre boot area.
Naza Kia Malaysia aims for the Rio sedan to make up 23% of the company's target sales of 6,107 units in 2016.
