S. Korean to head BMW Group Malaysia from 2016

PETALING JAYA: Come Jan 1, BMW Group Malaysia will have a new managing director and CEO.

Han Sang Yun, the first Asian to head BMW Group Malaysia, is succeeding Alan Harris, who will be retiring.

Han, a South Korean, has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry in his home country. He was most recently the sales head for the BMW Group in South Korea and was also responsible for marketing and product management.

Over the two year he headed BMW's Malaysian operations, Harris had presided over the introduction of the X6 and X1 as CKD models, the opening of new dealerships, expansion of  its Johor parts depot and kicked off the first BMW World Malaysia programme.
