Safe tyres, safe travels by Continental

PETALING JAYA: In conjunction with the coming Hari Raya festive season, a tyre safety check campaign was organized by Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTM).

The tyre safety check campaign, scheduled at four Tesco Extra stores in Peninsula Malaysia from 9th June to 3rd July 2016, is aimed at educating the general motorist to cultivate tyre safety habits and prioritize vehicle tyre maintenance to ensure a safe trip “balik kampung”.

The purpose of this Tyre Safety Check Campaign is to highlight and remind the general motorist the importance of proper tyre maintenance in ensuring road safety for themselves and other road users during the festive season of Hari Raya.

“We believe that having taken this step of organizing the Tyre Safety Check Campaign is doing our part in creating awareness in road safety and making a difference,” said managing director of CTM, Cameron Wilson.

Wilson added “It is vital that road users continue to be educated that correct tyre inflation pressure and sufficient tread depth are essential to ensure safe motoring. Without these measures, emergency stopping distances can be much longer which means more accidents at higher impact speeds. So clearly, correct tyre inflation, sufficient tread depth as well as choosing quality tyres can make the difference between life and death.”

The Tyre Safety Check Campaign, a corporate social responsibility initiative by CTM, started at Tesco Extra Alma, Bukit Mertajam from June 9 to 12, 2016.

CTM will conduct another 3 tyre safety checks at the following locations, Thursday to Sunday, 10am-10pm.

June 16 to 19: Tesco Extra Mutiara Damansara

June 23 to 26: Tesco Extra Tebrau

June 30 to July 3rd: Tesco Extra Bandar Bukit Puchong

Booklets featuring tyre maintenance tips and Continental premiums will be distributed to public during the campaign. In addition, being an official sponsor of UEFA Euro 2016, CTM has also organized its UEFA Euro 2016 roadshow at the following locations featuring super shot game where shoppers can play to win limited edition UEFA Euro 2016 merchandise.
