Scania's new Sandakan workshop opens

KOTA KINABALU: Scania has launched its latest workshop in Sandakan, Sabah to help service customers in the Sandakan, Lahad Datu and Tawau areas.

“For customers to get the most out of their fleet, it is vital that Scania can support them with the right solutions. Convenient access to workshops and genuine parts is crucial for our customers anywhere,” said Scania Southeast Asia managing director Marie Sjödin Enström.

The RM500,000 facility is support its clients in terms of maintenance services, repair services, parts services, driver services (consisting of driver training and coaching), fleet management system (FMS), financial services and 24/7 Scania Assistance roadside services (1800-08-8500).

"Our strategic presence in Sandakan complements the Kota Kinabalu facility in order to support our customers in achieving profitability and sustainability," added Enström.

The facility possesses two work bays manned by three technicians and is able to accomodate up to four vehicles per day.

If needed, the number of technicians can be increased to support the needs of customers.

As part of the opening, the company will be conducting a Recon Truck Promotion until Mar 31.

This is where owners of their reconditioned Scania trucks are able to obtain a free health check and a free Scania retrofit of FMS or a free activation.

Scania also offers service packages at 30% discount together with software checking and downgrading.

Maintenance contracts are on offer at a special price of RM0.098/km with a minimum term of 10,000km per month during the promotion period.

As a step towards an environmentally friendly state, the company will also help to ensure that the correct filters for B10 diesel is being used.

The workshop is also able to assist its Sabah customers in adopting the Scania Ecolution programme, which is a partnership-based solution for operators and businesses to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
