KUALA LUMPUR: Shell Lubricants has launched its range of driveline products aimed at helping businesses reduce operating costs.

Shell Rimula heavy duty diesel engine oils; Shell Spirax axle, transmission and gear oils; as well as Shell Gadus greases.

According to Shell Lubricants, its products are able to lower operating costs and extend service intervals when used together throughout the machine’s driveline.

Shell Lubricants has a growing list of satisfied customers in Malaysia across different industries who have seen significant cost savings from longer oil drain intervals, reduced fuel consumption, extended lifespan of parts, lower maintenance and repair costs, reduced downtime and higher operational efficiency, said its general manager (Malaysia & Singapore) Leslie Ng.

The industries include agriculture, cement and quarrying, fleet and transportation, construction and general manufacturing.

Ng cited "quantifiable" gains made by local companies that have made the switch to Shell Driveline products. They include plantation company Kokorotus Estate Sdn Bhd of Lahad Datu which operate a fleet of tractors; Taiping-based truck operator Megah Transport Sdn Bhd; and Sibu-based NB Heavy Industries Sdn Bhd, whose fleet of trucks ply both short and long haul routes across Sarawak.

He said longer oil drain intervals or longer lasting greases have resulted in annual savings for the various companies ranging from RM100,000 to RM2.5mil.

Shell Lubricants introduced its products at the May 14-16 Malaysia International Trucks, Bus and Components Expo, held at the Mines International Exhibition Centre Sdn Bhd in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
