KUALA LUMPUR: Shell Malaysia has introduced the Helix Power and Helix Protect engine lubricants that are said to deliver better performance and provide added protection respectively.
Sold as a 4.0-litre pack, the lubricants cost RM280 for the Helix Power (0W-40, 5W-40, 10W-40) and RM240 for the Helix Protect (0W-30, 5W-30, 10W-30).
“With the new Shell Helix Power and Shell Helix Protect, we aim to return the important engine oil decision making to the car owners. As the products’ names suggest, one gives you more power and the other gives you more protection. Simply choose one that suits your driving style or needs,” said Shell Lubricants general manager (Malaysia and Singapore) Nyon Kam Yew.
The Helix Power is said to feature special performance-focused additives to help maximise engine power and deliver faster acceleration for a smoother highway cruise or over hilly terrains and open roads.
As for the protection-focused additives in the Helix Protect, it is touted to help cleanse engine components for higher durability over time in cars that operate under stressful stop-go traffic situations commonly experienced within urban centres.
The base oil used to produce these lubricants are made from natural gas which looks colourless once processed and has been dubbed PurePlus Technology by the fuel and lubricants manufacturer.
In conjunction with the introduction of these new lubricants, the company is providing every customer from now on (while stocks last) who purchases a 4.0-litre pack of either lubricant in mention from any participating workshop with a free replica Scuderia Ferrari race car.
To mark the launch, the company is also distributing complimentary packs of the new engine oils and Shell Helix Care Kits to Grab driver-partners as part of its #BecauseWeCare initiative.
